Former US President Donald Trump has been indicted on charges related to mishandling classified White House documents found at his Mar-a-Lago estate. The charges include violations of the Espionage Act, making false statements, and obstruction of justice conspiracy. The indictment marks the first time a former president has faced federal charges in US history.

Trump denied any wrongdoing and accused the Biden administration of election interference. He is set to surrender to Florida authorities next Tuesday for arraignment. This is Trump's second indictment since leaving office, with the first relating to hush money payments made prior to the 2016 election.
